Instructions

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS STILL IN EARLY BETA!!!!! This is my own take on creating a list-based platformer engine. I have a lot of the basic building blocks already done, such as creating the grid, player movement, tile collisions, etc. There is still a lot to do, and I would love to hear feedback on it! Currently this project is not mobile-friendly, but I intend on creating that in the future. --------------CONTROLS------------- WASD: Move E: Toggle editing mode Left Click: Place Tile/Use Tool P: Pause/Unpause Q: Show player collision points --------------TODO LIST-------------- • More tiles! • More movement options • Actual costume sprites and animations • Settings menu • Level select • Uploading levels to the cloud (this will be a headache to code) --------------CHANGELOG-------------- 5 April 2022 - 0.3 - Added a main menu, revamped editing mode, added support for saving/loading levels, and much, much more! 3 Feb 2022 - 0.2 - Added support for bigger hitboxes, an editing mode, and much more! 5 Nov 2021 - 0.1 - Initial Release --------------PLANS FOR THE GAME-------------- If you couldn't tell from the to-do list already, I want to make this game mostly around parkour and movement. I aim to make the movement very snappy, and I want to make the player feel in complete control. I also want to include several main levels, with an overarching story around it. This will include bossfights, and I will try my best to incorporate a lot of movement into them. If I ever get to it, I want an "online hub" sort of thing, where players can upload their very own levels and play levels from other people. I also plan to flesh out the editing system and make it very customizable and user-friendly.
