Update 06 Oct 2022 (v1.1.5): * Changed the boat sounds to now use "music" this means we have all 4 boats making sound with less slow down, however, there is still low down. Boat sounds can also be switched to all, just boat 1 or off in the options. * Water glints have been marginally improved * Optimisation in the menus (not that you'd notice!) Update 16 Jun 2022 (v1.1.4): * Added in TalonNails' incredible times Update 13 Apr 2022 (v1.1.3): * Number of laps per race selectable in the settings * Added press Q to quit a race Update 06 Apr 2022 (V1.1.2): * New graphics, different for each boat * Made the track selection look nicer * Updated front end * Music fade out Update 03 Apr 2022 (V1.1.1): * Global lap times only get stored when a record is broken * Grid layout on final race times * Times are now formatted to make sure they have 2 decimal places so it all looks nice Update 18 Mar 2022 (V1.1.0): * Consistent game timing code, this should (in theory) mean no matter what the spec of your machine the game should run at the right speed so lap times should be fair on any machine. * Complexity groups now added, these are automatically calculated based on the complexity of the track making track selection less busy Big update 17 Mar 2022 (V1.0.2): * Added many more courses, we're up to 30 courses now and it's getting a bit busy! Cloud scores needed to get reset due to needing to put pauses between each write to each variable and it all got corrupted. Should have backed up beforehand... Sorry. * Added meta data to the courses so I can credit who made each one. Little update 16 Mar 2022 (V1.0.1): * stop "impossible" lap times being recorded, so a few lap times were very impressive, turns out it's all about turbo mode... Banished! Version 1 Release 15 Mar 2022 (V1.0.0): * I've just removed 3 of the boat sounds so only boat 1 has an engine noise and the frame rate is vastly improved. Seems scratch doesn't like sounds being pitched and panned around very much! * We now have (I think) working cloud best lap records. Instructions
This is a Hovercraft racing game for 1, 2 or 3 players. Over 50 Tracks to play now! Don't forget, when selecting tracks you can press up and down to get to the different complexity levels There's been over a year on and off work to get this to where it is so far! So please don't rip it off, it genuinely pains me to see it. TalonNails smashed all of the best track times and gave no one else a chance to race as fast as him, so, I've reset the times again to allow people to have a fighting chance! Best played on Turbowarp: https://turbowarp.org/514263123?hqpen Find the Keyboard options in into the Settings > Control. [Cursor (Arrow keys)], [wasd] and [ijkl] are available. Controls work like a tank, left will rotate your boat left, right rotates it right, up for power, down for reverse In Settings > VFX/SFX you can turn bits and pieces on and off to get best performance. There is auto detection on the particles to try and not overload your system so it should run pretty well on any system... That said use the turbowarp link below and have everything on because it looks nice!! Difficulty is just how fast the AI racers go, in Normal they have no advantage over you, slower you have advantage over them, and faster, they have advantage over you. Select Track unsurprisingly is where you can select which track you want to race. There are lots of tracks, make sure you use up and down to change the track complexity! And hit Race! to race!
