Description
Credits to griffpatch for the original project, Appel. Background music is "Please Don't Inhale the Cinema Patrons" by Jun Ishikawa. Credits to cwktao15764 for major contributions to the level design of Grey or Gray, playtesting, suggesting ideas and helping in general. They are probably the biggest contributor to this pack, tbh :P Special thanks to LBS-Scratch, AndyDuongPhong and others in the Scheeep Appel Pack 6 Forum for ideas and motivation. Special thanks to thepurplebanana66 for beating all my pack levels, and thus, inspiring me to creating this pack. The more difficult optional challenges in this pack are made with them in mind ;) Very special thanks to freeplayjt (and possibly cwklucas12552) for their level, The Chamber, Pt. 2**. The creative yet fun gimmicks in that level heavily inspired several levels in this pack, most notably Atria***. **(see scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/7720422) ***Even the name is a reference - the two upper chambers of the heart are known as the atria Thanks to the discoverers of Harter blocks (LandonHarter), floating-point blocks, and other gimmicks and tech that allowed this pack to be possible. Thanks to TheGreatYo-Kai for the tutorial on how to include more than 9 levels in a project, though unfortunately I botched the coding and made replay codes etc break (oops). And lastly, special thanks to you, the player, for playing my level pack! :)
Instructions
This pack contains a few cheap trolls, so if you are not a fan of that, check the very bottom of Instructions for the location of these trolls. Since cloud variables can bug out sometimes, don't forget to save your replays* and post it to this forum! (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/677235/ ) * I am aware that I botched the code slightly and trying to fetch replays is now an absolute pain, sorry :< Hidden in obscure spots of some levels are "peon rooms", which are easter egg rooms with an enemy (usually an orange/purple peon) which are just fun little rewards for exploring the levels. I encourage you to try to find them! (don't kill the peons though, they've done nothing wrong) - UPDATE LOG - v1.0 (31/07/2023) - Release v1.1 (01/08/2023) - Added some art to the splash screens of Appel Complete, Level Editor and Custom Level v1.11 (02/08/2023) - Minor update v1.2 (24/08/2023) - A bunch of frustrating changes to Grey or Gray v1.3 (25/04/2024) - Botch fix of wrong menu warp (doesn't work, sadly) - LOCATION OF TROLLS BELOW - - Just before the goal flag of Smorgasbord, there are troll crushers. To avoid the troll, stop after you get past the last saw-jumps, and wait for the crushers to activate before proceeding. - Just before the 8th checkpoint in Grey or Gray (after you wall-jump onto two purple peons), there is a crusher which is timed to crush the player if they just hold right. To avoid the troll, stop just after wall-jumping onto the two purple peons and landing onto solid ground, then wait for the crusher to activate.
