Description

Of course, much credit is due to the creator of Rush E, Andrew Wrangell (Sheet Music Boss on Youtube). Thanks to this website for the midi file I used for this: https://onlinesequencer.net/2179360. (Thanks to @Turtsles for sending me the midi file when I was struggling to download it myself.) I got the song data using a very simple Python script -- a mere 16 lines! This couldn't have been possible without the Python module "mido." After this, I loaded the data into Scratch by importing a text file into two lists -- one for each track -- and wrote a Scratch script to play it with some nice synthesia.

Instructions

Watch to the end. It gets good ;) Rush E is a viral song that originated in this synthesia video: https://youtu.be/Qskm9MTz2V4 (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/Qskm9MTz2V4) This project will play Rush E -- recreated in Scratch using the music and pen extensions; no sound assets! This project was made for a synthesia competition hosted by @2okrisvadh: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/31463596/ The winner of the competition is determined by the highest love to view ratio.
