Description

Challenges: 1. Launch the rocket an put it into orbit (this is a bit hard). Tip: Crew Dragon's normal orbit is at altitude =~ 400km, horizontal velocity =~ 7668m/s, but any orbital altitude and velocity will work. 2. Restart the game and press L. Try to land the first stage rocket back at the landing zone at Cape Canaveral (horiz. pos.=0) (this is hard, too). Tip: For precise control, use small thrust pulses. Stop at horiz. pos.=~0 a few minutes before touchdown.

Instructions

Falcon 9 (Block 5) - Rocket Physics Simulator --- (Use full screen mode) This is a Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon simulator with real physics. (No aerodynamics except of drag! I think I'll have to make a new version soon that is more realistic. Maybe.) CONTROLS Vehicle controls: Throttle slider = Control the thrust p = Deploy the next set of parachutes Right/Left arrows = Rotate rocket* s = Stage separation** g = Toggle stage 1 landing gears Up/Down arrows = Precise throttle control h/u/j/k = Draco thrusters Simulation controls: l = Start stage 1 landing attempt a/z = Zoom trajectory map (still some bugs) Wind speed slider = Control the wind speed d = Show/hide variables and data When there is no more fuel in a stage, it will separate automatically.** The simulator doesn't use exact data, but almost exact data. Notes: * No physical formulas are used to calculate rotation. ** The separated stage slides to the bottom of the screen in a constant speed, no formulas are used.
