Description

This project is mine! See share date on: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/2495918/ Originally shared on 25 Apr 2012. Formerly Featured! Thanks @GoldenDiamond and/or @StarKid777Hex ! 2500 Love-It's! Music from http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1871886/ edited a little. *It is Yoshi Park from Mario Super Sluggers, made by Nintendo* Cloud Data Name Storing System used (with modification) from @BIG-red-BUTTON 's scratch.mit.edu/projects/22010269/ Update Log: (10/28-29): v4.4: Data backup, added some internal utilities to better monitor my cloud data before each backup. (10/24): Data backup (10/21): v4.4 beta: After some tinkering, records tentatively back up (10/18): Let's try that. (10/17): v4.4 alpha: lag was gone, then returned mysteriously. This is very likely NOT a problem with my program. Record System SHUT DOWN temporarily until cloud variables stabilized (10/15): Had to make a new cloud variable AGAIN to try to address really annoying unnatural lag. RECORDS SYSTEM RESET, SORRY! (6/26): Improved ball bounce mechanics, hopefully no glitches, if so let me know. (6/14): Made it easier for me to determine if the cloud variables are working or not (12/13): Created a new variable again, tried some other stuff. maybe it will work now? IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (12/11): Noticed there hasn't been any cloud activity lately, AND that some complaints about cloud lists have been coming from "Scratchers." Tried making new cloud variable, maybe that will help? (7/8): Cloud List Backup (7/4): Happy 4th! Deleted repeat record-holders, they kept their best record in each category (7/1): CHANGES IN v4.3 Users can only have one record in each category (as new record holders come the monopolizers will be phased out *cough @rayisawesome88 * he's not the only one.... Still no idea how the big glitch happened, but the backup cloud list (stored on the project) is updated every time I edit the project (6/29): Glitch in system, had to reset records, sorry everyone, and i have taken some measures to prevent something of this type from happening again (6/24): CHANGES IN v4.2: Added record lists, each with five spots to track record holders. Should work now! All current record categories, except Furthest Hits: You need to finish the game to set records! (6/21): I think I managed to reduce lag some more, but that's not what I'm working on ;) (6/20): Yes, I'm still working on this, but offline. Updates to come... (6/1): Tried to implement some strategies to reduce lag, let me know if it helps? (5/28): v4.1: Graphics clean-up, added detail to field, added new record category: Most hits! Hits increase whenever you hit a fair ball that is not a home run. Fixed record system. First record set under the new system that's not me! (5/25): v4.0: Overhauled name storing system, thanks to @BIG-red-BUTTON . Names and records stored in a single variable, freeing up cloud data for other uses. Added a script for recognizing new scratchers, thanks to @DadOfMrLog 's project http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/18593258/ . This script lets me determine whether or not a player has really set a record (New Scratchers cannot). (5/24): Began set up for transition to a "cloud list" instead of 10 cloud variables, eventually leading to possibility of more record categories... (5/21): Tried something new to maybe keep the game from telling new scratchers that they actually set a record... That didn't work... Name system doesn't seem to be working 100% (5/20): v3.5: added a shadow to the batting scene to better place the ball in 3D space. When the shadow gets to the front of the plate, that is where you make contact. Moved records script to a new sprite. @ThePlatypusLord got his (I'm assuming his) record. That may have fixed the issue... (5/18): Less variables while you are playing. You can pause to see the records and how close/far away you are from them. (5/17): Happy Scratch Day! Added lefty batter option! Toyed around with variable placement, other fun stuff. (5/15): v3.4: Added foul poles (thanks to @MattSeal for the suggestion). Foul balls are now off by default (you can still turn them on in settings). Fixed a potential problem in name storage (simultaneous use of the same variable). A few records set today, all stored properly after the fix! Gave some records to their rightful holders. 20000 VIEWS!!!!! (5/14): v3.3: Added option to remain anonymous if you set a record. Setting can be switched in the settings and in the pause menu. (5/11): v3.2: I got cloud variables to work on my project again! Sorry to anyone who has set a record recently, because those are not the real records you beat. Added volume setting. Made distances more realistic (5/4): v3.1: Screwed up v3.0, so had to re-upload project. A few fixes and improvements (5/3): v3.0: Better Curveballs and more accurate pitches, new power algorithms, added the Changeup, and more!

Instructions

Click to swing. Move your mouse to the grey dot and swing in time. When you swing the bat determines where it goes! Post your score! You get 10 outs. Contact Swing: bigger area for getting the bat on the ball, not for hitting it far. Power Swing: for hitting home runs, but easier to miss the ball. TO POST A HIGH SCORE, YOU NEED TO BE A “SCRATCHER”!!!!!!!! http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/6986/ You can TURN FOUL BALLS ON/OFF in the settings section of the main menu
